Heidi I have information on this Thomas PALING. I'm descended from his son George. I have copies of both his marriage certificates, photocopies of census entries for him in 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, and his widdow in 1891. I have copies of his will, his death certificate and his burial record. Both marriage certificates show his father as John PALING, so the Lowdham christened child of Samuel and Mary does not sound like our Thomas. I'd love to hear from you as I have a suspicion you're descended from George's sister Mary! I've published some of my research on my website at www.isabelsancestors.co.uk.
