I respect your advice very much, it is very helpful in a zillion ways - but I disagree with your attitude about children out of wedlock. It is quite a common occurence these days and genealogy programs SHOULD provide for reality and get their heads out of the sand. Ignoring reality solves nothing - it only creates poor and untruthful genealogy reports. As I mention below I work around the situation by altering the report in Word 97 or in Generations graphical charts by inserting "(companion)" before the father's name - but the "companion" or "partner" terms in place of "spouse", or whatever, should be made available in all genealogy programs.
