I posted last April 28 but medical problems kept me away. Thanks to Marilyn and Harold who answered. If I had a 3 1/2 ex drive for the apple could I copy the 5 1/2 gedcome file on the 3 1/2 disk and copy my data on that. Then could I put that in my new non apple pc to transfer the data to FTM in the new pc? Are there 5 1/2 ex disk drives available for PC(non apple)? Harold suggested getting a modem for the Apple, but I don't understand what to do if I was able to find one. Does anyone know how I would go about finding old equipment for the Apple II (1985 vintage) How would I search for someone that would do something like this for a fee? I have not used my FTM yet and now a new version is out, I'm afraid soon it will be obsolete. Thanks for reading this. Donna
