Some other genealogy database programs (such as RootsMagic and Legacy Family Tree) can directly import PAF data files, but each then creates a new file in their own proprietary file formats. Only the version in their own format can be used with their software, unlike AncestralQuest where you can either create an AQ data file or use your PAF-format file, and the program will work with either format.
