23 Mar. 2011 Bill Buchanan can probably give you more specific advice, but it appears that you'll need to work your way up the gedcom standards chain by finding a genealogy program that can import your old Mac gedcom and re-export it in a newer format. Since gedcoms are text files and comply with a standard, you should be able to use either a Mac program or a Windows program to work your way up the chain. The Family History Center where I volunteer maintains the older versions of PAF on its computers to accommodate problems like this, so check if your local FHC has the older versions of PAF available. At a minimum, you'll probably need to import into Windows PAF 4 and export in the newer gedcom format, and you may also need to step through PAF 5. Once you get your gedcom into 5.5 standard, you should be able to import it into your new version of FTM. You can find the location of the nearest FHC here: https://familysearch.org/locations or here: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp Dave |
