I have used PAF to generate the genealogy database on my web sites for about 12 years. In PAF, you click the icon that shows a globe and star, then click the Select button to select who you want included on the website. You select them exactly as if you were creating a gedcom. Then click OK. Check the options list for items that you want to omit or include. (You will want to hide details for living people, but names may or may not be advisable.)

Click Next and fill out as much of the form as you want to use. You need to put in a web page description or at least the name of the local folder. Click Finish > OK > Yes.

If you like what you see, the webpages have been created successfully.

To upload them to the internet, you need a web space. These are available for free from many web hosts. (You can Google: free web host) Many of them are supported by banner ads, many are limited by the number or size of files you can upload.

I am currenty using I like the fact that there are no banner ads and I have over 1700 files on my site. I have no connection to this company other than having had a free account with them ever since my previous free webhost started going offline and online in an erratic fashion. Instructions for uploading can be found on the sites of all webhosts. It is definitely more complex than just uploading a gedcom, but it is also much more flexible. If you have your own website, YOU are the only one who controls your data.
