I am new to using PAF files. I have captured quite a bit of my genealogy in a PAF. I have used Family Search and located additional ancestors. I downloaded these findings as a GEDCOM file and converted it to a PAF. Two generations of one line appear identically in my "found information" paf and in my own paf. I tried to merge the two paf files using the Match/Merge feature under tools but was unsuccessful, mostly because i do not appear to know how to use the feature effectively. Under Merge Individuals, I selected one of the individuals [who was identical in my accumulated genealogy paf and in my discovered and downloaded paf] from my paf and selected Next Match icon but the individual who is the same in both files does not show as a match. Please help. Can I, how do i merge two PAFs that contain identical individuals [same name, birth date, birth place. death date, death place, father, mother, and spouse]? THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP. BEST WISHES. cbd |
