I have looked at this some more. In the Layout tab, changing the Chart Orientation to "Left-to-Right (columns)" seems to solve the problem of the boxes spanning pages.
By clicking "include photos" on the Contents tab, the default photos are included.
My personal opinion is that this type of chart works better as a wall chart for a reunion rather than as a book. For books, I have used the Descendants Outline report with good success. Admittedly my books have spanned 6 or 7 generations, which would be awkward with the kind of chart you are using, and the Outline format does not include photos.
