I had a somewhat similar case earlier this week. Someone at the FHL phoned with a file of 80,000 names, where the Individual View would not show the data if it was sorted by names (but would show the data if sorted by RIN). My first suggestion was to make a backup with a new name and then run Check/Repair. To my relief, Check/Repair solved the problem. Try it first.
If it doesn't fix the problem, export the COMPLETE database as a gedcom. Then create a new PAF file with a NEW name (so Windows doesn't replace your existing file), and import the gedcom file.
Let us know if it fixed the problem.
