I have been using PAF FOREVER (since the DOS days). It DOES have a function that exports your database so it can be placed on the PALM. You can NOT edit the info on the PALM though. You still have to do all the edits on the main computer and then just replace the PALM database after you make changes. I STILL use PAF as my primary data input source, HOWEVER, if I were starting out now, I WOULDN'T use PAF. They have said that PAF is NOT going to be upgraded. There are other programs with greater capabilities. I've bought The Master Genealogist, PAFWiz, Legacy, and Family Tree Maker. I still use PAF as my database, because all those others didn't offer me anything more that was worth the trouble to change. Again, if I were just starting out, I might find one of those other programs acceptable. I don't know about their PALM capabilities though. I'd have to research that.
