I don't understand. Are you using Personal Ancestral File (PAF) or different software called "Ancestry Family Tree", or do you mean "Family Tree Maker" purchased from Ancestry.com? It appears to me that you are using your software to create a Web site or report, which would explain the living people being listed as "Living" with no names. What software are these lists shown in, PAF or a Web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Firefox)? In PAF, do the names all appear as normal in the "Find Individual" screen? (i.e. when you click on the binoculars) When you say "I click on the tab to look at the list of my ancestors" do you mean that you are clicking on the tab labeled "Pedigree"? What steps are you using to create a gedcom file? If I understand what steps you are taking and what software you are using, I can probably help, as I use PAF every day, and I provide some technical help on three PAF lists online.
