I have Companion also, and like it for the fan charts. Companion can create documents in MS Word (which is RTF in Companion), WordPerfect, WordPad, Works and Lotus Ami Pro. I think the PDF capability in PAFWiz is very useful. I just ran a sample report in Companion and the pictures actually show up when I look at the RTF document (unlike with PAF), HOWEVER, all the pictures were mushed (a southern term!!) up in one location. Legacy is another free program (I have the version you buy, so I'd be afraid to tell you what the free one has and what is part of the paid one), with PDF output for reports. Legacy would require you to GEDCOM your data out of PAF and then pull it into Legacy. With PAFWiz, you can read the PAF database directly. With Companion, you could at least move the pictures around to the correct spaces with editing, since you can SEE them. With PDF format, you can't "edit", unless you have a special PDF editor.
