I save my database to multiple computers and write the file to CD to store at my husband's office (in case of fire or other catastrophe). The file to back up is the *.paf file. On my computer, PAF is installed on the C:\PROGRAM FILES\FAMILYSEARCH\PAF5. Depending on the name of your database, example, if you named your database SMITH, you'd find the SMITH.PAF file. That's the file you'd write to CD or whichever disk you choose. That file contains all my data. If I take my laptop to the library and make changes, I just copy the updated *.PAF file to my desktop file, replacing the old one, when I get home.
