I use PAF to create gedcoms from outside geneology programs.
I then import the PAF gedcom into my Family Tree Maker program.
I have noticed this common fact that is true of all:
Notes, you will notice, can not have source citations like the events can. this also applies to marriage notes. when you export and import the gedcom tags MUST conform to the gedcom standard in order to change with no error. the error report tells you the errors and that the info was ignored.
Guess what? The error info is put in notes for that individual and it has no source info. You must go to the original source gedcom (as a text file) and find the source.
Notes can also be used to make text copies of wills etc. this use should be temporary.
Hope this helps ya
