To edit a custom event click on Edit from the menu and then "Individual Event List". Find the event "Other-Begin" then click edit. I do not know exactly what "Other-Begin" is being used for but you need to construct the verb and preposition so that when a report prints it appears to be a coherent sentence. Sort of like if you added a custom event called School. The verb might be 'attended' and the preposition 'in' but in this case you would also include 'event description' where you would be able to put the school's name. When you are done the Custom event would print something like: John attended City High School in 1922. PAF 5 is a lot better at constructing Custom Events than previous versions.
When you "check data" on your file use Check/Repair. PAF will automatically fix almost all errors it finds. These are normally PAF 'house cleaning" errors where pointers point to the wrong record. It will report the custom events as errors if they do not have the proper verb, date or other fields edited. Those you have to fix but it is not something that will prevent to program from operating properly. It just will not print that custom event in a report or web page. PAF creates a check.lst report on all errors that it found and what action it took.
Hope this helps.
