You are half way there. Once you get a report made, you can then export only those people in the report to a GEDCOM file. It seems to be a backward way of doing it to me. Once the report is on screen, click on 'file' and you have a new option visible, "export selected people" or something like that. Why did you not go to the FTM forum instead of the PAF forum?
