Alfred, Thank for the advice, however, I found a much less technical way to do it. I was trying to make this conversion late last night, I was probably tired and cranky and exported the GEDCOM incorrectly. When you go to file, export, GEDCOM, I selected PAF5.0, thinking it was a PAF file. What they were asking is what I wanted to export the GEDCOM to. With a clearer head this PM I selected export PAF 4.0 and had no problem whatsever. Now my files are safely tucked away back in 4.0, where I never experienced any difficulties. My biggest gripe with 5.0 was the repetetion of material on reports and family group sheets, the information was all correct but I found it very annoying. Made me think some other things were probably going on that I wasn't even aware of. Thanks again Joan
