Mrs. Mattew Slavkovsky
Mrs. Mary Slavkovsky, 70, of 427 E. Myrtle Ave., died of complications at 1:20 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital following a two-week illness. Mrs. Slavkovsky was born in 1886 in Hranovnica, Spiska, Zupa, Slovakia, a daughter of Michael and Susan Zoltak, and came to Youngstown from Carrollton, PA in 1915. She was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union, St. Ann's Lodge No. 30 and Third Order of St. Francis. Her husband, Matthew, died in 1932. She leaves a son, Matthew Jr., at home; two brothers, Michael Zoltak of Youngstown, and Joseph in Europe, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Budicky of Carrollton. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Monday at the Vaschak Funeral Home and 9 a.m in the church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
