Dear Forum members ..
We are looking for these people who apparently emigrated as early palatines on 19 July 1709 ...See Knittle's book Early Eighteenth Century Palatines. (Shows Jacob Raubel and Johan Appel, neither with wives or children) We are wondering if these men came from the same area of Germany or Switzerland since these men lived as neighbors in the backwoods of Saucon Creek in Upper Bucks County, PA ...thus, we thought they might know one another ...
ANY information on the origins of either man in Germany or Switzerland would be much appreciated ...although there are postings of Ulrich coming from the Otterberg/Messerschwanderhof area of the Pfalz, there is no known proof of that to date. Also, legend is he came from Oberdiessbach area of Switzerland before that ...again, no proof to date ...
PLEASE help us find this information if you have the expertise to place these men in their EURO setting ..it is very difficult to run down these early settlers who may have started in New York or PA before settling in Bucks Co.
Thanks so much
PS There is a yDNA study (The Ruple yDNA Surname Group with FTDNA) with the profile of Ulrich should his modern relatives be found in Europe or the US. We want documented evidence of place of birth if that Euro record exists for either man.
