Sheri: Thanks again for your response. It's a bit confusing because the story goes that Josef Kocis & family went back overseas around 1888 for him and/or his siblings to do a carpenter apprentice & he met Marie over there. They came back here & were married in 1903. I guess I assumed the rest of the Kacvinskys followed Marie, but they must have been here before then if Effie was born here. I'm a bit of a novice at this, I've only started looking in the past couple of months and there is so much to learn about the terminology and how to find information. How can I look up the 1910 census for dates of birth on the other siblings? Is there a website to look up, or do I have to subscribe to something?
