First: is the city of Philadelphia in the county of Philadelphia? Second: Johanette Benter married Jacob Weaver in New Orleans or Philadelphia. Is there a free Internet site for Philadelphia marriages circa 1830-1835? Third: When Johanette Weaver died in N.O. Nov 19 1876, the newspaper obit added: Philadelphia papers please copy. Where could I find that PA obit? I am looking for the connection. Johanette Benter was probably born in Prussia, but I believe Jacob Weaver was born in PA about 1813. His occupation was cooper or something having to do with Mississippi River boats. They were in N.O. by the 1850 census. Any help appreciated. Thanks - Kathleen
