Looking for any info on my great grandparents, their ancestors and their descendants, plus any relatives.
Johanna Sofia Andersdotter, born 13 Jan 1851, Pjatteryd, Smaland (Kronosberg Ian).
Emigrated to Mt Jewett, McKean Co, Pennsylvania in 1889. Member of Swedish Evangelical Nebo Lutheran Church and charter member of Zion Lutheran Church. She remarried to Charles Seaberg in 1892. Died Mt Jewett 8 Aug 1927.
Married in Sweden to:
Gustaf Nilsson born 4 July 1855, location in Sweden unknown. He came to the US before the rest of his family and died 9 November 1888, in Kane or Mt Jewett, McKean Co, Pennsylvania, before the arrival of his wife and sons.
They had four sons born in Sweden, only three lived and came with her to the USA in 1889: In America, their names became Americanized, their first names may have been changed and their last name became Nelson. Probably in Sweden, it would have been Gustafson. The 3 sons are:
1. Gustaf A. H. Nelson - lived in Youngwood, PA and then lived in Williamsport, PA with a daughter married to a Benson. Married to unknown Lundberg from Mt Jewett (her brother and sister were Harold and Florence). they had quite a few children.
2. Gottfred Leonard Nelson, born 24 Oct 1876. Married to Nell McPherson. Lived in DuBois, PA
3. Elmer A. Nelson - married, lived in DuBois. Worked for railroad but no other info known.
Johanna had a brother and sister who probably were in the United States and probably arrived with with her in 1889. Their names were probably also Americanized.
John A. Anderson, born 7 December 1853 in Smaland. Married unknown Netta (born 23 Mar 1857, Halmstad, Sweden, died Dec 25, 1937/8). He died 6 Jun 1948 while visiting son in Green Forest, Arkansas. His residence was Dubois, PA. He had five children:
Helena Anderson married to G. Walter Ross, Dubois PA. They had six children.
Daughter Anderson married to G. A. Hays, Baltimore MD
John H. Anderson, first Oakland CA, later Green Forest, AR
Carl W. Anderson, Chicago, IL or West New York, NJ
John and Netta's obituaries disagree on the fifth child
His says: Eric L. of Chicago
Hers says: Chris T. of Chicago.
Johanna sister was Kristine Andersdotter.
She was married to an Erickson (possibly, Sidney or Emil) and lived in Kane, McKean County.
