A death certificate I have lists the place of birth as New Salem, Clearfield County, PA! Was there such a location (about the year 1864) in Clearfield County? I have located a New Salem in York and Fayette Counties; however, thought this New Salem may be one of those communities that changed names through the years or merged with another town or boro!
