I've used just about every technique I could think of to find them in the 1930 census, but didn't find anything even close. It could be that they were either misindexed or the enumerator skipped them (just like they skipped my mother in the 1930 census of Pittsburgh).
You could try to find them in the 1930 Pittsburgh directory at Historical Pittsburgh: http://digital.library.pitt.edu/pittsburgh/
You could also try to find people in the 1930 census that lived next to them if you know any of the neighbor's names. It was how I determined they skipped my mother when I didn't find her or her parents at the address given in the 1930 directory.
