Judy, How is the searching going? I stumbled across this and hope it helps. (And doesn't become more confusing) Malcom PRATER born 1899 in Morgan County, Kentucky died Oct. 10,1947 his parents were John J. C. PRATER born 1872 Kentucky, mother Purlina HAMMAN born 1843 Kentucky, Purlina's mother was Jane PRATER born 22 Mar 1822 in Floyd County Kentucky. Purlina's father was Andrew Jackson HAMMAN 22 Sept 1818/1822 in Floyd County, Kentucky. I don't know if this helps but we do see the names Malcom and Purlina show up in the right place (Floyd CO.
