Hello all, I'm looking for any information to help with my research of my husband's family. His mother is an OKEEFE. I am working on his father's line - but that is more difficult and is going slower (his father is from Czech and immigrated to Australia in 1950 - so it goes straight back to Czech and a big language barrier for me!). In any case, I'm playing family politics here... his mother seems to like me working on her family line and the more I do, the more information she gives me about her husband's family. So, I am trying to keep her happy, and I am enjoying it! Anyway, what I know is: David John OKEEFE was born in Cloyne, Cork Ireland, the son of an OKEEFE and a COGHLIN (spelling?) from Cork. He married Maria Theresa LEAGY from Schull Cork, Ireland. Them immigrated to Australia before their son David's birth ( 5 August 1892, Winton, Queensland, Australia). I have lots of information on the son David born in Australia - that was my mother-in-law's father, but little on his parents. There seems to be 100's of "David Okeefe's" in Cork!!! And I haven't yet be able to find the ship David John and Maria Theresa took to Australia or the date. Has anyone run across a David John O'KEEFE who was the son of an OKEEFE and a COGHLIN - or anybody who was the son/daughter of an OKEEFE and a COGHLIN?!?! Any tips would be appreciated!!! Thank you!
