The article is about Henry Groves,dob 12-30-1835 pob Morgan County. moved to Starr Twp in 1856 -Married Mary A Rose. They had 8 children James W., Clarinda, Parthena, Ida B., Jesse B., William N., Frank, and Alfred. Mr Grove owned 177 acres and was a farmer and stock raiser.
His father was also Henry, dob 12-7-1795. He married Rebecca Devault. He was a tanner for several years.
They had 10 children, Mary, Eli, Elizabeth, Eliza, Henry, Margaret E., and four who were deceased whe the book was written.Mrs. Groves' nephew Andrew Jackson Devault lived with the family for 39 years. He was crippled. Mr. Grove died in 1869. She died in 1869.
