My gg grandfather is Daniel William Souders originally from Creagerstown Md then Sharpsburg and Smoketown/ Mt Lena Maryland. His father was Daniel Souders who m. Margaret Beeler 1811. Daniel Sr. parents were Jacob and Elizabeth Rohrer Souders.

Here's a brief history of my family and what I know;David is my g grandfather.
David and Noah Souders, brothers married Kuhn girls. And from there the SOUDERS, KUHN reunion was born. Digging deeper and finding the connection on how they met or when unveiled some interesting information. Our reunion based on the time they married spans over a hundred years. What was real surprising was the time frame the two families have intertwined prior to what we imagine to be the start of the SOUDERS,KUHN connection meaning our family reuion.

The connection started between Henry Kuhn and Jacob Souders April 13th 1809. Henry witness Jacob purchasing property in Creagerstown Maryland. Tract of Land called Dulany's Lott lying and being in Frederick County and State of Maryland and part of a Tract of Land called "Spring Garden" lying and being in the County and State aforesaid. More surprising discovery was a continuation of following generations . Daniel who is the eldest son to Jacob Souders appears in Sharpsburg Md.1826. William Souders appears 1827. David B. Souders appears 1845. These dates are on the General Land index Wash. Co.Md page 165. David B. is documented with Jeremiah KUHN , grandson to Henry KUHN. The year was 1853 in Sharpsburg Maryland. David had a deed transaction with Raleigh Showman. Jeremiah was a witness. They appear again together 1855 . This time they are both listed as administrators and executors on a bill of sale with William Morrison, Sharpsburg Maryland. The next connection is David and Noah Souders marrying the Kuhn girls. William appears to be a half brother to David B. Souders also a grandson to Jacob. David and Noah would be great grandsons to Jacob. The Kuhn girls were first cousins . Jacob Kuhn born 1805 was a first cousin to Jeremiah. Jacob had two sons, William Henry and Daniel Kuhn. Both their daughters married the Souders boys. The other thing that is interesting is both Souders boys are documented running away from San Mar children's home 1884. William Kuhn was residing in Maplesville Md located near San Mar children's home. Daniel was living in Licking Creek Pennsylvania. It appears they were taken in by the Kuhn brothers. David may have lived with Daniel. Because David is documented marrying Daniel's daughter Mary M. Kuhn in Fulton County Pa 1896. Noah married William's daughter Mary E. Kuhn 1895 Wash. Co. Md..

David's wife Mary Margaret Kuhn passed away 1903. David at some point return to Mt Lena with his four children. Mary Ellen Shaw was helping to care for the kids. Her parents William Shaw and Emma Kuhn Shaw wouldn't allow her to stay the night unless David married her. Emma was an older sister to Noah's wife Mary.

I found a deed for Henry in the area of Mapleville Md and the spelling is Koontz. His wife is mention her name Julian. William Henry and Daniel's father was Jacob Henry and his wife was Julian. I'm pretty sure they are one in the same.

Jacob Souders had a brother Bemjamin moved with him to Frederick md around 1810. Two of his son's David and Jacob moved to Ohio. I have to wonder if we connect ? Do any of these names match up on your side ?
