Looking for any information about the Kyle or Kerr families in Trumbull County in the early 1800s. Our family has hand written notes indicating that we are descended from a Robert Kerr, who served as a Ranger in Westmoreland County PA during the Revolutionary War. A DAR book indicates that he lived and was buried in Trumbull County about 1816, location unknown. DAR and other records show that his son, Robert Jr, lived in Trumbull County and served in the War of 1812.

The information on the burial place of Robert Kerr Sr is disputed in a second DAR book with a notation by an Etta or Ella Kyle, of Turnbull County, who, in the late 1800s, indicated that the previous burial information was being confused between the Kerr father and son. She indicates that she knows this information because she has two cousins that married into this Kerr family.

Can anyone help with any information about these families?
