Jeremiah CRISSMAN was listed in the 1850 census of Akron, Summit Co., OH. He was a mason, age 39, b PA. His wife, Mary M., age 38, was, also, born in PA, and their daughter, Mary E., age 12, was born in OH.
In the 1860 census they were in Durand, Winnebago, IL.
CROUCH, William T., 28, NJ
CROUCH, Mary, 22, OH
CROUCH, Eugene, 1, IL
CHRISMAN, Jerry, 49, PA
CHRISMAN, Mary, 49, PA
In 1872 Jeremiah shows up in the Calif. Voter Reg. in San Joaquin Co., CA, as well as in 1873. In 1876 he was residing in Alameda, CA and in 1882, Sacramento, CA.
The 1880 census of Oakland, Alameda Co., CA lists:
KROUCH, Mary E., 42, Head, WD, OH-PA-PA
KROUCH, Bessie L., 19, dau, S, IL, MD, OH
KROUCH, Harry R., 14, son, S, CA-MD-OH
KROUCH, Mary c., 12, dau, S, NV-MD-OH
CUSSMAN, Jeremiah, 69, father, WD, PA-MD-PA
Eugene CROUCH, age 20, b WI (should be IL) was living with his aunt, Margaret RHODES CROCKER, in Sacramento, CA. This is "the" CROCKER family of Calif. Margaret RHODES was b ca 1822 in Summit/Stark Co., OH.
I'm trying to make the connection between the RHODES and CRISSMAN families.
