I am an Ancestry.com member and have already searched their databases and gathered a lot of information. I am looking for someone who may have known the family in Akron and could pass along stories or more personal information: My mother's family came from the town of Dokshitz (Dokshytsy) in the province of Minsk. The older family members remember that the town was in Lithuania, but at times it was in Poland and Russia as well. It is currently in the country of Belarus. Their surname was MUNITZ, but many changed that to MIRMAN. Most of the family came to the US through New York between 1890 and 1910, but one son went to Argentina. The family eventually settled in Akron, Ohio, with others moving on to Los Angeles, California after 1945. Anyone with information on this family kindly reply by e-mail. Thank you. |
