Can anyone tell me anything about Silas L. Manes listed in the Shelby County, Loramie Township census 1870 for Ohio. He is listed as 60 years old white male. On Roll 1267 page 58 in census index for Ohio. I would like to know what it says on the actual census for Shelby County, Ohio for 1870, 1880 and 1890. Might narrow down his date of death for me as well as hopefully establishing where he was born.
Would like also like to to know who is listed as living with him in the Shelby County 1870, 1880 or 1890 Census for Shelby County, Ohio.
He lived in Randolph County, Indiana in 1850 and 1860 with his wife, Freelove Wiggins Manes and their 9 children. Have run also run into a road block regarding his parents and siblings. I do not have a date of death for Freelove Wiggins Manes, his wife or Silas L. Manes either. Both listed as being born in 1816, she in Kentucky and he in Tennessee or Kentucky.
Also looking for a Billy Manes that worked for the railroad and have a picture of him at the Houston, Ohio railroad station with a cousin of mine. Would have been probably 1927 or 1928. My mother's mother listed him as a cousin of hers. Don't know how many times removed though. Wondered if he had a wife and family and what relationship he was to Silas L. Manes, my great-great-grandfather.
