On 28 November 1858, Elizabeth EVANS (1837-1878) married Isaac Brice GORDON (1832-1908) in Pickaway County. I am wondering if anyone could tell me who Elizabeth's parents were.
I ask partly because Isaac Brice had a sister, Eleanor/Ellen GORDON who married Alexander EVANS (1820- ?) in Hocking Co in 1841. Since it was not unusual in those days for siblings to marry other siblings, I was wondering if Alexander and Ellen/Eleanor were related.
It has been suggested that Alexander EVANS was the son of DAVID EVANS and grandson of CALEB EVANS, but I am not sure that this is correct.
Isaac Brice Gordon and his wife Elizabeth Evans were living in Walnut Twp, Pickaway Co in 1860 with their first child, John (born about 1860). Shortly after the 1860 census, they moved to Illinois where two more children were born (George W and Phoebe). The family finally settled in Rawlins Co, KS where Elizabeth died in 1878.
Can anyone provided assistance with these EVANS questions?
