Louise:
Thank you kindly for your offer to perform a lookup for me. My grandmother, Lulu Mae Wolfe (Woolf/Woolfe) was born in Bono to George Albert Wolfe (2/28/1862-2/8/1933) and Ida Mae Grodi (11/1863-6/17/1933). It is my understanding that George's parents were Samuel and Mary Woolf, originally of PA. George was one of 7 children, Jane, Mary, Samuel Jr., George, Thomas, Alonzo and William. I found on a recent trip to OH that Thomas and wife Rose are buried in Elliston Cemetery in Benton Twp., Ottawa Co. I know Samuel Jr. married a Rose Lacourse, Thomas married Rose Reno, Alonzo married Rose McKillips, and William married her sister Maud McKillips. I sure would like to know more about these McKillips sisters, and whether they were from Bono as well. Daughter Jane married a man from Clay Center, lived in Woodville, OH and she died young, leaving 2 daughters. Mary died at age 8.
My grandmother was raised in Bono, one of 13 children: Peter, Reime, Leime, Clara B., Gracie J., Nellie C., unnamed infant male, George Albert Jr., Edward, Ruth Gale, Carl Charles, Lulu Mae and Thomas Edward. Only 7 of them lived to adulthood; I have no clue where the children Peter (16 yrs), Leime (6 mo), Reime (6 mo.), infant son (sb) or Edward (3 mo) were buried.
If you could find anything regarding the death of parents Samuel and Mary, or any details regarding the marriages of the children or death/burial information, I'd be ever so grateful. A surname such as Wolfe/Woolf/Woolfe is a nightmare to research, but Bono couldn't have had too many of them!
