Im looking for anyone researching Lair/Lahr/Lehr/Lohr/Loehr families in or from Madison County, OH. Im specifically interested in May Lair (as she wrote it) born in or near London in February, 1872. (Her birth record in the courthouse says: Mary Lahr, but on the day I was at the courthouse, I could find no marriage, death or property records under the surname Lahr.) Mays father was Joseph, b. about 1814, and her mother Anna (Annie) Hamden/Hamdon Lair b. about 1839. In 1870, Joseph appears to have been in Southern Franklin County and in 1880 in London, Madison County. He was a wagon maker or, in 1880, a carriage maker. May married Charles Henry Owen and they lived a good portion of their married life in Washington, DC and/or Northern Virginia suburbs. They had 7 children. May died in Arlington, VA in January, 1950. Mays sister Harriet, called Hattie, was born in 1874 and married John Fraher about 1883 in Madison County. Her son, Stephen Reed Fraher, was born Feb. 11, 1894. Hattie died in London on Dec. 2, 1922; her son died May 20, 1961 in Franklin County, OH. If you have links/connections to any of this family, I would love to hear from you.
