Hi Richard:

Thank you again for your help. I obtained an original Lorain County 1874 Atlas book, and found your reference, with "Benjamin T. Woodmansee" clearly marked, which answers my question about his middle initial.

Also, I'm very interested in the Knowles Cemetery you mentioned.

Interestingly, I've been in touch with a couple of individuals from LaGrange by phone lately. George K. works for the city "garage" (parks) department, and we've been discussing the burials in the cemeteries. Also Doroty B. (author of a couple of local books) has provided some information. It is my understanding that they do not have interrment records pre 1930 or cemetery deed records pre 1903. I've faxed an inquiry to George about some specific things, such as where Benjamin Woodmansee's parents may have been burried.

Also, I picked up an interrment record for the old part of LaGrange Twp. Cemetery while visiting the library next door in November 2004, (the "older" part of the cemetery). This is the little part that sticks out to the west near the road, next to a barn that I saw when I was there (marked as Knowles property on the 1874 atlas, different than the other property located by the Knowles Cemetery). Although there are Woodmansee and Sheldon surnames noted withut given names on this record, there are no headstones on some of those graves. Dorothy B. had told me she documented that section of the cemetery at one time.

Again, I can't thank you enough.
