Hi,

I am hoping this family line may mean something to a fellow Thompson researcher.

William Thompson born March qtr 1850 in Distington Cumberland married Isabella Irving born 4th December 1853 in Harrington Cumberland

Not sure when and where they married but it might be about 1872/1873.

By the time of the 1881 English Census they are living at;

126 Ramsden Street
Barrow In Furness, Lancashire

William. THOMPSON Married age 30 born Distington Cumberland

Samuel Thompson was later born on the 13th December 1882.

The 1901 census shows William 50 & Isabella 47 & Samuel 19 still in Barrow in Furness.

Samuel Thompson married Elizabeth Eleanor Barr about 1909, have been unable to locate where as yet.

They had a number of children who may have been registered in the Southampton Hampshire area.
William about 1910
Isabel about 1912
Doris about 1915
Albert about 1918
Eric 13th January 1920 in Itchen Southampton, My wifeís Father, I have the certificate.
Patricia about 1923

Samuel Thompson died 13th January 1968 Moor Green Hospital Southampton

William moved on to the United States Cleveland Area possibly (Elyria, Lorain OH).
Eric followed in the early 1960ís with wife Betty and daughters Cheryl & Helen.

Cheryl & Helen attended Northwood Junior High School. The family returned to England after a time as the business they had hoped to get into failed.

William with his Wife and daughter Patti-Ann who was married and had several children of her own stayed on but have now lost contact.

Searching the SSN Death Indexes, I found a possible candidate for the death of William Thompson

THOMPSON, WILLIAM E
105-01-6804 issued New York
Birth: 29 Apr 1909
Death: 15 Nov 1987 Elyria, Lorain OH

If this is the case he died the same year as younger brother Eric, 22 July 1987

If this within your family group, or you can fill in any gaps or you can help in any way, I would appreciate it.

Regards
