I'm with you, Susannah was related to Ephraim, by blood or perhaps an earlier marriage to one of Ephraim's brothers or a cousin. From what I've gathered over the years re: Ephraim - he was a farmer plus own a sawmill. Hocking County has a wonderful archive of historical records which is open to the public 5 days a week during county court house hours. The building that houses the records is not in the court house but on Main Street in Logan. I found quite a few records which involved Ephraim in law suits. Some that he filed and others filed against him. He and Margaret divorced between 1900 and 1910 (almost unheard of back then), he left Hocking County and moved to Fairfield County, Baltimore Ohio. I found newspaper articles re: his kids protesting his will. He left everything he had to one son and the son's daughter. I'm thinking he was a mover and a shaker in Hocking County and maybe trustworthy. Susannah must have felt trust for him but I can't find her as a close relative of his. I do think Ephraim had another sibling and was born between Anna and Lydia. Susannah could be the child of this sibling I can't find. I live in Logan and visit the county's historical archive storage building and will keep my eyes open for anything I can help you with.
