My mother grew up in the Palestine, OH area, and died in 1998. I found this obituary among some of her papers. Fern must have been a neighbor of hers, or possibly one of her teachers.. I thought someone would like this for their research efforts. This is from the Greenville paper, but the name of the paper is not on the obituary, just the handwritten notation of "1997". "FERN W. SINIARD, 100, of 750 Chestnut St., Greenville, died March 30 at the Brethren's Home Medical Center. She was born December 30, 1896, in Mercer County, the daughter of Franklin E. and Margaret (Pepple) Waggoner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Siniard, in 1975. She was a member of the Palestine Church of Christ and was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Dayton School System as well as Darke County Schools. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Palestine Church of Christ with the Rev. Mike Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. There will be no visitatio. Oliver Funeral Home, Greenville, is providing the arrangements."
