Nancy, you may have some misinformation re: Sam's residences. I've linked you to Asa's bio for Muscatine IA.
He was b 1806 Belmont Co and stayed on his father's farm until he was 20. This places Sam in Belmont Co 1826.
1830 I find a Sam & wife, same age category, in both Belmont & Knox Cos OH

6-15-1785 Samuel Gregg s/o Thomas & Rebekah GREGG m. Ann SINCLAIR d/o James & Mary SINCLAIR, Sourth Fork Meeting House, Loudoun VA

11-4-1830 Asa GREGG m. Catherine DRAKE, Knox Co OH
both bur Oak Ridge Cem West Liberty IA

I don't know if this is another ch or not, since Sam was m 1785, this would be pretty close to have a son on 1805 Richland Twp Tax List, Belmont Co OH....Samuel Gregg Sr; Samuel Gregg Jr.
Note: Jr doesn't always mean "son of" may also distinguish 2 men of the same name, in the same community

BK A pg 2
William SMITH, signed ------1809
Wife: not named
Sons: Ezekial, Mahlon, & Aaron SMITH
Daus: Sarah GREGG, Jane WHITE
Wit: Samuel GREGG, John COFFER, Charles PIDGEON.

I'm sure some of the GREGGs who m in Belmont belong to Sam, but have no way of telling, as there were other GREGGs in the area. You need to find a volunteer who has access to HINSHAW'S QUAKER RECORDS [abt 10-12 volumes] for VA and OH. It should list all of the ch/o Sam & Ann.

My Belmont histories do not mention Samuel other than the tax list.
There is a will on file Belmont Co for a Samuel GREGG
Vol F pg 124...covers yrs 1833-39.
