Hello all,

I am continuing to work on a webpage for the small town of Bellaire in eastern Ohio (Belmont County.) I am researching previous mayors of the town.

I hope to eventually locate a picture of each of the mayors.

My current research is leading me to find the following:

1906 - Charles Kompart is mayor
1924 - 1925 William Kompart is mayor

I do not have other information available to me at this time. I do not know when they were born, if they had spouses, if they were related to each other, or even if they've passed on.

I am hoping that some researcher of this family would be kind enough to contact me. It would *really* nice if they could provide me with a picture of either of these two men.

Thanks in advance,
Patty (Drummond) Jenkins
As a reply in the general Ohio geneology board here, I received this reply:

Just out of curosity, I checked the 1920 & 1930 census, and Charles Kompart was not alive in OH.

William Kompart was listed on both the 1920 and 1930 census, and he was 49 and 59, so you know that he is also dead by now.

Neither were listed on the SSDI, so that means that William died before SSI became effective.

He had a son Walter, who also has died by now. He died:
WALTER KOMPART 22 Jan 1900 Sep 1972 Conneaut, Ashtabula, OH OH (Before 1951 ) 278-09-8973

You mmight try contacting KOMPARTs in Ashtabula Co., to find his descendants.

And so that is what I am doing, I am hoping to find a descendant of this family that might have a photograph of either William or Charles Kompart so that I may include it in our Mayors page. Any suggestions are welcomed.
I have found various pictures of other mayors in the Bellaire local newspaper (especially around election time), but since have moved to the other side of the state and do not have access to the newspapers anymore. This is a pet project of mine, and full credit will be given to you for providing the photograph.
Thank you very much,
