Benjamin Watrous / Waters was born 1765 at Marlborough CT. He died in Nov 1850 in Ashtabula County, OH. He was a Revolutionary War soldier who served from CT and received a pension. In the 1850 census, Benjamin and his wife Lydia (then age 85) are in the Ashtabula Co OH household of a Curtis Waters, age 42 & born CT. I would guess that Curtis is Benjamin’s son or grandson, but I do not know this to be a fact. Benjamin and his wife came with other family members (whose names I do not know) to Ashtabula County in 1814 from Berkshire Co MA.
There was another Benjamin Watrous, also a Revolutionary War pensioner. This Benjamin was born in 1762. He, too served from CT. In 1818 he applied for a pension at Benton in Ontario Co NY. I believe that Benton is now called Milo and is now located in Yates Co NY. This Benjamin died in 1843. This Benjamin was married in 1786 to Elizabeth Lester at the home of her father John Lester who was light house keeper at the mouth of New London CT harbor. This Benjamin had children Sarah, Benjamin Jr., Patience, Ethan, Jonathan, John, Elizabeth, Clorina, Francis, Pheby, & Eber – the children were born between 1788 & 1812.
Were these 2 Benjamins related? Did the first Benjamin have a daughter Lucinda? Did either of them have a sister named Huldah?
