I am researching the Obenland family that came to Rankin, Vermilion Co,Illinois in March,1872 from Germany. My Great Grandfather was Christian Obenland b.Oct 27,1850 m. Christine Sievert b. May 5,1854 he died April 1937 and is buried along with his wife in Rankin,Ill. He came to the US in 1872 along with two brothers Ernst married to Mary Burkhart and Gotlieb married to Louisa Gohl.
