I remember Mel very well, he was my favorite person at Rencoa after my dad and we all loved him very much and my dad and he were close. Mal was the Plant manager and every time i worked at the plant my dad handed me off to Mel and told him to put me to work. I got to talk quite a bit with Mel and he told me he was a gunner on a B-17 in WW2 and he was a good persosn and a good friend. I will never forget him crying at my dads funeral and i will always remember Mel, he was my favorite and a really nice and good person.
We are all well, my mom passed in 1996, my sisters live in Florida and I now live in Vancouver, Canada and i'm in Film and tv production and animation and married for 21 years to Sharon.
God bless Mel, your dad was a great guy and all my best to his family and God Bless him, i will always remember Mel.
