At fultonhistory.com, I read an 1887ish article in the NY paper about the court ordering the sale of 6 or 7 Effray properties from some lawsuit. One was the Hooper Street address, that was bought in 1874 with a $4000 mortgage, held by Pauline & Robert William Hanington. (Essentially the gist of it.)
Hopefully, you'll find that W J and Elizabeth had a son, Charles, who would be the "cousin" listed by Robert W in the 1916 almshouse census.
1860 census indexed as Paul N Harrington, female listed first followed by Rom W. and Paul M. Looking at the original will show that it is Robt not Rom.
Between the enumerator's errors and the transcriber's errors, research really becomes a challenge some days!
