I am quite puzzled about how difficult it is to find information about my ancestry on my father's side of the family, and I'm hoping anyone related to my lineage or that has information on them can help:

My great-great-great grandfather, ALEXANDER BURNS, lived in Walworth in the 1870 Census. Recently I found he was buried in the Walworth cemetery next to his wife, MARY ELLEN "MINNIE" LINK (1843-1876), and with the birthdates 1822-1878...though an Alexander Burns appears in the 1880 Census (who is this Alexander?). I have found other information that leads me to believe Alexander was born in Ireland, and lived for a time as a blacksmith in Troy, NY, and had a previous marriage to a woman possibly named Charlotte...can anyone verify this? I have found that an Elisha L. Burns (b.1854) is possibly his son...anyone have information on Elisha?? Any information concerning Alexander, his family and his lineage would be great.

As for the LINK family, I have little information. I have had no luck indicating Mary's parentage through census records, though one of a William and Mary Link may possibly fit. Anyone have information on the Links family?

Through my great-great grandfather's marriage, I am also tied to the Milliman family. I've found out a great deal of lineage on the Millimans, but I have little about the Snyders and Ennis family that I am related to through them. My great-great grandmother Mary Belle Milliman's mother was an Ennis, but I have found her first name to be Mary and Lucy, and I don't know which one is correct. Her parents are Joseph Ennis and Lucy Ann Snyder, and I would like to know if anyone has information on their descendants.

ANY information anyone can provide on anything above would be greatly appreciated!
