William "Bill" Farnham, 93, of Loveland, CO, died May 8, 2004,
at McKee Medical Center. He was born April 20, 1911,
in Palmyra, New York to Louis Southwick Farnham and Cora Mae
Jenkins. He moved to Loveland in 1920 and graduated from
Loveland High School in 1930 and from Colorado Teachers
College (now University of Northern Colorado) in 1934.
He married Geneva Rose Mothershead March 20, 1931, in Canon
Mr. Farnham owned and operated the Loveland Steam Laundry
for 50 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the
Cosmopolitan Club and served on the City of Loveland
Recreation Board. He was a tennis champion in Loveland 1930
to 1955; he enjoyed playing tennis and golf. While golfing
he had two holes in one.
He had season tickets to the Denver Broncos Football games for
40 years. While in high school he played football, baseketball,
and tennis. He held the No. 1 position on the tennis team
at Colorado Teachers College. He enjoyed bowling and bowled
on teams in Loveland for many years. He was a member of
the First Christian Church and was an elder, deacon and
member of the board of trustees at the church.
He is survived by this wife, Geneva R. Farnham of Loveland;
sons Larry Farnham and wife Daphne of Glen Haven, CO; Glen
Farnham and wife Harla of Sun City West, Arizona; and Steve
Farnham and wife Pat of Loveland; seven grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2PM Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at
First Christian Church in Loveland, CO. The Revs. Tom Webster
and Harvey Ruegsegger officiating.
Cremation will be conducted with burial at Loveland Burial
Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian
Chruch in care of Viegut Funeral Home.
