Ann - Thanks to Paula (see her message to me) for letting me know where to find the index. This is what I found (under town/village of Lyons):

Heading was German Evangical Church
The society held services in the dwelling of members, in the basement of the old Methodist Episcopal Church, at the centre bldg, and at the old school-house on Pearl Street, opposite the German Lutheran Church. In this school-house, the first regular meeting was held in January, 1844, to consider the subject of building a house of worship. Rev. Wm. Mentz was elected chairman and C.Young, secretary.

It goes on to talk about the church and building it, etc. then states: The following have served in the order given as ministers in this church: Levi Jacoby, Wm. Mentz, ....

If you would like me to send you the whole article, which is fairly long, please e-mail me directly with your address. I don't have a scanner or would send it that way.
