You are in luck, perhaps. I just read the Walling name yesterday in "History of the Churches of Sodus," Lewis H. Clark, pub. in Sodus, Wayne Co. NY, 1876. page 33 (Chapt III Baptist Churches):
"The three brothers Walling-- William, James and Joseph-- came in quite early from Junius."
This would be referring to around 1820. Maybe Junius is not in Wayne Co; it might have been Ontario Co, then. It is nearer to Lyons. It might not be on a map now, look for Junius Ponds. There is a NY State Thruway entrance nearby.
In Sodus, where the old Ridge Road now crosses with Geneva Road, between Sodus and Alton, there is a little settlement which is still called "Wallington" and the little stone schoolhouse near there is the Wallington Schoolhouse. On Gillette's 1858 map of Wayne County there is a dot marked A. Walling on the ridge road just east of the road to Sodus Point which is now called Geneva Road.
If I can find the history of the stone schoolhouse I'll look to see if the Wallings are mentioned in it.
Hope this helps, C.S.
