Cathy, I have just received many pages in pension files re: my PULVERs. Great service and quick, too. I would have to look back into my records to find where I had found Elizabeth AYERS as wife of Jacob. Pension gives name as Elizabeth IDLE (often signed Betsy as she acknowledges that her husband preferred that name). Jacob S. PULVER (only 1 reference to the "S") m. Betsy IDLE 8/June/1866 in Orange, Schuyler PO Monterey. Witnessed by Sarah F. Crouch. Joshua Crouch was the JP. Jacob's father listed as John M. PULVER of Orange, Schuyler Cty. I figured Elizabeth (Betsy) age at abt 1845 as she was 62 in 1907 when Jacob died. Children of Jacob and Elizabeth: John Henry PULVER b. 8/May/1865
Richard PULVER b. 19/Jan/1870
Roda PULVER b. 14/Feb/1872
Carrie? PULVER b. 1/Mar/1874
Joseph PULVER b. 13/)ct/1877
Burt (Bert) PULVER b. 20/Mar/1898
Cora PULVER b. 8/Sept/1881
Jacob served as Pvt, Co D, 161st Reg NY Volunteers, Infantry. He was in KY, etc. discharged in Port Jefferson, FL. He was a very sick man for many years.
He enlisted in Bradford, PA. Various addresses: Addison Hill, south of Addison, Steuben Cty, NY, near Dundee, Yates Cty and finally at 91 River St(Rd) Corning, Steuben Cty, NY . I have appreciated your info on my behalf. Jacob signed "x" but Elizabeth signed w/different spellings. Now for finding John M. PULVER and Elizabeth IDLE in Orange. It will help, I'm sure that you told me that Bert's mother may have been born in Eng. Jackie Pulver Thurlow
